We recognise parents as the first educators of their children and strive to work with parents in partnership to provide quality Catholic education for the students in our care.
At St Gabriel’s School, parental involvement is strongly encouraged. Opportunities for you to be involved in your child’s education and sharing of your passion and talents exist in a variety of forms. We build up and strengthen the partnership between school and home through open dialogue. Teachers welcome communication from home in various forms, notes, emails, phone conversations.
Our commitment to parental involvement is taken from the Charter for Parents in Catholic Schools SA: "as partners in the education of their children, parents* contribute to the life of the school in many ways that reflect their interests, skills, experience and capacity to do so” and the Australian Government Family School Partnership Framework, 2008: “when schools and families work in partnership, children perform better academically, stay in school longer and enjoy their schooling”.
You are invited to participate in a survey about your school’s performance. Similar surveys will be administered to staff and students to enable us to capture a community snapshot.
All responses are confidential and will be used for school improvement purposes. Completion of the survey is on a voluntary basis.
