Transitioning to School
We are excited to share with you the news about our revamped Transition Programme that commenced in Term 1 2022. Students who are enrolled to commence in Term 1 of next year (2023) are eligible to participate in the school's extended Transition Programme which will commence at the start of Term 3 and run through until the end of Term 4.of the year prior to starting school.
Students are welcome to attend the school on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. A child can attend for up to 2 days during the week. The day will commence at 8.50 am and conclude at 3 15 pm. The girls and boys will engage in fun activities supervised by a member of the school staff. As the children explore the school site through play and investigation, they will become comfortable in their surroundings and ready to begin school in Term 1.
The children will have their own Transition Programme space and can wear casual clothes or wear their free t-shirt printed with "Gabby's Angels". They will need to bring their own water bottle, snack, recess and lunch to have during the day. Please note that St Gabriel's School is a "Allergy Aware" school and we ask that no foods with nuts as a main ingredient are brought to school. These foods can include peanut paste, Nutella etc.
Children can only attend on 2 days each week and please note that this programme is not a replacement for Kindy. It is envisaged that children would attend the school for transition on the days they are not at Kindy.
If you are interested in your child participating in the Transition Programme please make contact with the front office via email to let us know.
