Term 4 Week 1
Dear Family and Friends of St Gabriels
Welcome to Term 4. I hope that you enjoyed a wonderful change of routine with your children.
At school this week, we have enjoyed a very calm and organised start to the term and it has been lovely to see everyone again.
With this term only being 9 weeks, our school newsletter will continue to be an important source of information.
Refurbishment Projects
During the second week of the holidays contractors commenced various projects around the school. We have had operable windows installed in the classroom in the Gym, new decking outside of the Year 5 classroom is currently being installed and we are in the process of having the previous staff room and resource rooms refurbished, so that these spaces can be utilised as classrooms in 2025.
Enrolments 2025
This term we are finalsing our enrolments for 2025. Please contact Margaret Stencel at our Front Office to arrange the enrolment of any pre school age children in your family, as soon as possible.
School Fees 2025
Also this week we are delighted to inform all families that St Gabriel's will not be having a school fee increase in 2025 and Term 3 Reception in 2025 will be free of charge.
It is at the heart of Catholic education that our schools are affordable and accessible to all.
If any family has financial concerns, we ask them to contact our Finance Officer, Alison Boyce, to confidentially discuss additional support through fee remissions.
Detailed informations about fees for 2025 will be provided to families next week.
School Photos
Earlier this week students were provided with details for school photos, which will be taken on October 29 Tuesday. We ask that all students wear their full summer uniform (and no sport uniform) on photo day.
School Calendar
This term we are introducing a school calendar that will be provided to families. The calendar may be accessed via the side panel of the newsletter or alternatively via our school website. The purpose of the calendar is to ensure that families have advance notice about what is occurring each term in our community. We hope you find this helpful and that the advance notice enables families to participate in a range of school events.
Until next newsletter, wishing all families a blessed fortnight.

Principal
Draw Near Project
I would like to offer a very big thank you to all the families that donated food items for the Draw Near Project. The Vinnies Refugee and Asylum Seeker Service is very thankful for the items as it will allow them to provide valuable support to families who are trying to settle into a new life here in Australia. As many of you know this can be a difficult and lonely experience without support.
Migrant and Refugee Sunday
On Sunday 29th September there was a Mass help in St Francis Xavier Cathedral in the city to celebrate Migrant and Refugee Sunday. It was special for St Gabriel’s School to have two students from our school who participated in the Mass.
Thank you to Hayley and Celia and their families for attending the Mass and helping the girls be part of the Mass.
The Mass was a wonderful celebration of culture and welcome as there were different choirs and parts of the Mass read in different languages.
The Earth Care Squad planted spring crops in the vegetable garden this week. We are grateful to Bunnings Prospect for their support and assistance in planting our summer vegetables and fruits.
We are also grateful to Catholic Education SA for the grant of $500 towards keeping our school beautiful.
We will use the grant money for more storage bind and signage for 10cent recycling bins.
